Sushi is not 'light: it is full of refined carbohydrates

    in Plastic Pollution

If you are a fan of this food, you should know that all that glitters are not gold

The sushi carries fashion for several years. The ideal place for appointments because it is easy to eat and even erotic, it is relatively affordable and is good. As it is rice and fish, people think that it is healthy and that we can eat it whenever we want, when the reality is quite different.

If you are also a fan of sushi and you usually take it without any regrets because you think it is healthy and light, keep reading because you will be very interested in what we have to tell you.

Sushi is not 'light: it is full of refined carbohydrates

The main component of sushi is white rice, which has been refined and stripped of almost all of its fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

Also, sushi rice is usually made with sugar. The added sugar and low fiber content cause the carbohydrates in sushi to break down quickly in your digestive system, causing insulin spikes in your blood, which in turn lead you to overeat, research details.

    Sushi is high in fat

Sushi is often considered a weight loss food, when the reality is completely different. A single piece of sushi contains a very small amount of fish or vegetables, making it a low-protein and low-fiber meal.

In addition, sushi usually has high-fat sauces and fried tempura doughs, which are very caloric.

The most approximate caloric estimate per piece of sushi is 50 calories, so if you eat, for example, six pieces of salmon you will have consumed 300 calories.

    High salt content

The sushi also is very rich in salt. The rice in these pieces contains a lot of salt, and the smoked fish and vegetables it contains as well. And if we add soy sauce, to make us cry.

The excess salt is not only good for your health but can cause generalized fluid retention.

[This is what salt actually does in your body]

    Bacteria and parasites

In addition to all of the above, eating sushi made with raw fish can put you at risk of infection from various bacteria and parasites, as science indicates.

The only current regulation that exists regarding serving raw fish is that certain fish must have been frozen before being served raw.

To reduce the risk of food poisoning, always eat sushi at reputable restaurants that are more likely to follow proper safety practices.

And this is it, reader. Do not panic, you can continue eating sushi, but you must bear in mind that you should not take it as a healthy meal, but as something occasional, such as hamburgers or pizzas. And, yes, always consume it in trusted places.

You guys know I’m a mix of practical plus woo. On the practical side, beyond those studies referenced in the Gaia article, I didn’t find any studies that said there was a definite connection between high vibrational music and healing. I did find some studies that showed some hope but nothing definitive, so I’m not going to link them.
